Fish and Meat!

We have a very well organised guild bank, with tabs for certain types of materials etc...

Our raid food tab is neatly laid out with the lines of ingredients needed for each dish that makes up the Pandaren Treasure Noodle Carts.

The Veg is easy enough to come by, plant what you need etc, check with other people who is planting what so you don't end up with thousands of Scallions and no Pink Turnips.
The point is that for the veg all you have to do is go to Halfhill.

The meat and fish require a bit more effort however as you do actually have to go to places.
With this in mind heres a list of places to go to get your Redbellys or your Ribs.

Fish:

Giant Mantis Shrimp - Black Pepper Ribs and Shrimp
Head to Krasarang Wilds and check out the coast.

Redbelly Mandarin - Chun Tian Spring Rolls
In Townlong Steppes, Behind the Niuzao Temple in the lake. Don't go looking in the Vale of Eternal Blossom as since the Sha outbreak, the fish got relocated.

Emperor Salmon - Mogu Fish Stew
In the inland rivers and pools in Valley of the Four Winds.

Jewel Danio - Steamed Crab Surprise
Unfortunately, you gotta head to the timeless isle. The lake behind where the Emperor is or up the hill to where the ruby lake is (with the rare) or the water where the graveyard is (where you spawn if you die fighting around near Ordos) Take a Albatross to get to the ruby lake, so much easier!

Tiger Gourami - Sea Mist Rice Noodles
Kun-Lai inland water. Around the temples are quite good for spots. Also the Ancient Passage to Kun-Lai is quite good for these.

Meat:

Mushan Ribs - Black Pepper Ribs and Shrimp
Got the option of the lvl 90 Frightened Mushan in the top centre of Dread Wastes or the more friendly lower level ones on the Skyrange in Valley of the Four Winds. Drop rate is higher in DW but they are harder to kill.

Tiger Steak - Chun Tian Spring Rolls
I go to the wood next to the Tian Monastery for the Waxwood tigers. Spawn really quickly, easy to kill. Although, if you are in the Skyrange killing the Mushans up there you could drop down to the valley next to it and get the green tigers in there rather than flying across.

Crocolisk Belly - Mogu Fish Stew
For this I got to the Dread Wastes and head to the Lake of Stars. You can do a lap around the outside of it and then if you get back to the start and they haven't spawned, you can just go into the water and get the ones in there!

Crab Meat - Steamed Crab Surprise
Most comments point to going to the Briny Muck in Dread Wastes, however, I've found my favourite spot to be on the coast in Karsarang Wilds. Purely because if I need to wait for them to respawn, I can go kill some invaders in the fishing village while im waiting and get some loot/cloth from them as well.

Turtle Meat - Sea Mist Rice Noodles
My all time favourite spot for these is the Pools of Purity. Only because its a stones throw away from Halfhill and I'm lazy.

Or Alternatively, just check out the maps!

Skinning!

Update! In the Blasted Lands you now have to talk to the dragon person to allow you to be in the past before the invasion. Bonus to this is that all the 90's are busy in the present so you kinda have the area to yourself!

I had this profession many moons ago on my hunter but when trundling around Westfall, skinning for light leather I just though 'why am I doing this?' went back to Stormwind and then took up Inscription and Herbalism. I didn't think about guides or walkthroughs for levelling it so my attention span was low to say the least. Having taken it up again and worked through the pain of skinning coyotes in Westfall I've made a little guide to finding all those places to skin to your hearts content! This is a work in progress, so I've got as far as my Leatherworking is up to. More will be added as I get to it.

Light Leather:
For this I went to Elwynn Forest and found the packs of wolves that make their dens around the rocks, I was able to gather them all up and then aoe them. The spawn quite fast so I could just do a loop around the area.
885059-elwynn_forest

Medium Leather:
For this I went to Wetlands. Just down from Greenwatch Grove there is a battle going on between two sets of mobs. The lizard things are skinnable and there is a point on a path near an over turned trailer and next to a fence where the mobs actually spawn. Really really quickly. You get an endless supply of leather as once you've killed and skinned four of them another four are in their place. Only annoying part is the humanoids that come down to join them, you end up looting a lot of crap to get your leather but... every copper counts!
WorldMap-Wetlands

Heavy Leather:
Rage Scar Hold, a cave full of Yetis that respawn fast is the place to go for this. Took me ages to actually find the damn cave but once in I was there for ages! There were a lot of low level Horde killing these things for a quest line and most of them actually looted everything off the corpses so all I had to do was follow behind them (get those dirty dogs to do all of the work) they drop cloth as well which is always handy to use/sell later on.
WorldMap-Feralas

Thick Leather:
One of the mysteries from WoW, how heavy leather is actually any different from thick leather is beyond me but the Blizzard Gods have made it so and thus, I will show you where to get it from. Benhind New Kargath is a ton of tiny whelps just ripe for killing. There is also a huge drake flapping around that attracts the attention of Horde and Alliance alike. You might need to use a flying mount to get up to the ones on rocky outcrops but its not too troublesome, well, it is marginally annoying. The stupid whelps also shoot flames at you so they don't follow you around that much, I ended up single targeting them/waiting for somebody on a quest to kill them and then wandered around skinning them. I have to say I was more than happy to get past the point of needing this leather.
WorldMap-Badlands

Rugged Leather:
Have some fun around the Dark Portal! The plus side of this one is that you can portal there and then once you're done, go into the Dark Portal and then use your factions portal back to the major city. I actually got ganked here while skinning. I don't know if someone though their friends were at peril from my boar killing ways but they dispatched me mid-running around like a headless chicken while trying to find mobs. Again there were plenty of people killing mobs for quests and kindly, they were looting them completely so I could sheepishly follow them around and skin the corpses.
WorldMap-BlastedLands

Knothide Leather:
The Burning Crusade level yay! If you made it this far, grats. The good bit about this one is that you can either go thorough the Dark Portal and on to the mountain range between Hellfire Peninsula and Terrokar Forest. You will need a flying mount to get to these lvl 70 Razorthorn Ravagers as they are on top of the mountains. not the lvl 61 ones in Hellfire itself. Although, if you're max level who has picked up Skinning then the best place to go is Karazahn. As you don't need to kill a boss to get to them, the Felhounds and the Bats are the easiest way to get your leather. Just turn right once your in the instance and then zerg through them all. Once they are all skinned, run back out of the instance and then reset it!
kara ground floor

Borean Leather:
WotLK time! If Sholazar Basin could get any busier... Here come the Skinners! Unlike the joys of herb farming, which was literally all over the zone, skinners have a slightly easier time by just needing to stay in one area. The gorillas are the most concentrated and there are quite a few of them going about their business. Perfect for killing.
WorldMap-SholazarBasin

Savage Leather:
Cata stuff so be prepared for it to be a little more challenging. Possibly can't gather a group of 50 mobs around you without it hurting a bit! Like for Embersilk Cloth farming, your best bet is Tol Barad daily area again. This time you want to head into the Darkwood. You're only over the bridge from the Restless Front so if you wanted to get the cloth as well it would be a good time to do it! Only in WoW would you ever imagine you could get leather from spiders... Have fun with them!
WorldMap-TolBaradDailyArea

Exotic Leather:
You need a flying mount for the best place to do this. Skyrange in Valley of the Four Winds. There are the goats that roam around in pack of six and also you can get some lovely ribs for cooking with! Just watch out for the monkey hunters who ca spring up when you don't need them to. Pretty much you can get exotic leather anywhere are the amount of mobs that drop it is large, this place is the best if you need a load in a hurry and unless someone is doing the dailies or farming the Ghost Iron then you won't get much trouble. Just don't get knocked off the mountain by the goats when they charge!
WorldMap-ValleyoftheFourWinds

One thing to note is that its worth looking at what son the auction house. Im quite a lazy farmer when it comes to things like this. I will go out in to the zones with all the best intentions and then curiosity will get the better of me and ill have a look at the AH to see if anything is for sale on there.

Ive seen a stack of Sha Touched Leather (like the scraps you get in earlier levels) go for 8g 99s 80c. Sometimes this is good other times its a false economy.

Whatever the item price, times that by 5 to get the cost of one piece of Exotic Leather. So for 44s 99c that works out as 2g 24s 95c per singular piece of Exotic Leather. A quick look on the Ah shows that the cheapest piece of Exotic Leather is 1g 88c. So if it was above 2g 25s per item I would totally just by the Sha Touched Leather instead. Do some maths before you use tour hard earned gold to be lazy!

I finally have another lvl 90!

I finally got an alt to 90!
Yaygzwelldoneboostedcongrats
Yes that's right. Boosted.

This time around I didn't but the collectors edition due to the fact lady time I did that I never used the pet and the mount got old really quickly. So the only thing I was interested in was the game and the boost. Seeing as it cost less that the price of an actual boost I feel I made the right decision.

I've boosted a shammy. Lilouann. So I will need to make another page for her. She's my healer, leatherworker, skinner and extra bag space.

I've dragged a group of guildies through a dungeon. Got distracted by talks of mounts and let one of them die (sorry Jollyjane) and then went into ToT lfr.

That's right... I'll repeat it though because it's hard to believe.

I did ToT lfr... As a healer...

It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be and for the first two raids I was second healer. They're was a lovely shaman who I forget the name of who decided to tell everyone I was afk because my mana wasn't going much down from 300k. 1- I had a lot of spirit to stop me going oom while I was still learning and 2- this was trash. If we needed to burn through our mana on trash then I would have left the group. I then took great pleasure in kicking their ass when it came to healing the boss fight. In my boosted greens, with the most screwed up reforging ever as I really don't have a clue yet what I'm doing with that. (looking forward to the day when all of that gets cut)

The part that I'm not looking forward to is the long arduous trip that is the legendary quest line. I've started gathering my sigils and getting rep but it's going to be a monumental pain the the behind to go through that all again. The only redemption is that in ToT and such forth the bosses go down relatively quickly.

Molten Core fun run

We decided to have a run through Molten Core as unfortunately there wasn't enough of us online and free to carry on with the ToT mount run or to do a flex.

There was issues with people getting dc'ed constantly so a 25 man run was formed from all of the raid teams and some guild members. This left Tsff, Nanutza, Antdruid, Marvv and myself with nothing to do.

After looking through the guild roster to try and find people who wern't in SoO and finding that there were only two other people it was looking like we would have to find our own entertainment for the night. After quickly vetoing dungeons as the two DK's had run them all last night to valor cap before reset. The idea of Naked Raiding popped into my head. I said about it on TS but as everyone was talking it got missed. I mentioned it in raid chat and then it got people's attention.

"What is that?"

"You go to an older raid like Molten Core, strip off all your gear and then as you go through, anythng that drops that you can equip, you do."

"Yeah? We can do that"

Antdruid meanwhile, had already gone to Molten Core to start it. "eager beaver". As the rest of us made our way over Nanutza and Tsff were busy making equipment sets calls 'naked' so they could get the gear off quickly. Nanutza then asked "are we actually doing this?" "yeah we are!"

When we got in Antdruid was running around in a brown coloured shirt "can I keep this on? I'm shy?" he said in raid chat, which instantly got replies over TS of 'you better not be cheating!' 'get naked!'. He obliged and you needed to do a double take. The Nelf underwear blended in perfectly with the skin tone of his char. Unless you looked carefully, that was a completely naked Nelf running around!

It was a sad time when we looked at our health bars. I had 146k. The only small consolation was that the trash would miss us when they tried to hit us. We went in and tested it out on a mob. There we all were in a fist fight with a Firelord.

It was all very hilarious as we took an absolute age to kill anything, looking at our Skada meters and seeing our woefull DPS reminded me of how far someone comes in the journey from lvl 1 to 90. It also was apparent to the other how shit a hunter is until they have a ranged weapon! I had my pet to help me, and my trusty crows but that was it. I flicked through my spell book on a rather long auto attack/punch the crap out of something for five minutes fight with a whole bunch of trash and everything was the same.

It was sad to see, at the beginning of the fight I was doing 0.1k damage. My hit amounts were floating down the screen; 74... 75... 74... 73...

Antdruid had decided to go in kitty form and was able to rake the crap out of everything. The DK's were able to use aoe spells, where as I was just running around like a headless chicken trying to keep in range of whatever mob I was targeting.

It reminded me somewhat of the odd ball class hunters really are, distance fighters with no actual power of their own. This disadvantage of sorts is echoed in the solo scenario where you go to the temple to face your celestial trial. Being ranged, we are sent to the Temple of the Jade Serpent. Although we do not get the benefit of the buff you get from the Celestial Offering, as it is intellect as that is what every other ranged uses. Our capes are the ones represented by the tiger Xuen, which is the melee based challenge. It's like we are a hybrid of agility melee with intellect users ability to damage from afar but are pretty much totally reliant on our bow, crossbows or guns. If that breaks (which mine has done before in an encounter) then we are completely screwed. I'm not sure we would last long in a raid group just charging up to a SoO boss and punching it! (although it would make a hilarious blog post)

We rocked up to the first boss, after not having much luck on the trash to get anything we could actually use, although Tsff did get some nice intellect plate boots. We bypassed the small core hounds and just went straight for it. It was at this moment our tank, Tsff nearly died. "oh these hurt, I'm dying, I'm going to die..." "oh my god Annnnnttttt!" "kill the boss!"

We had encountered 16 second stuns earlier on the trash, which was a pain in the ass but not life threatening. Here we had fears to deal with. It's not too bad and we had one Nelf and the rest of us were Human so we could make use of the 'Every man for himself' racial trait to get out of it. Nanutza made a good observation "I'm being feared and I'm naked... That's creepy". Indeed it was strange watching everyone run around in all directions in their underwear. Kitty Antdruid was getting aggro, he had to turn into a bear. In desperation we were calling our armies and stampedes. It. Took. Forever. Finally we got them down. Much cheering occurred and the  it turned into class hate. "Paladin boots! Stupid Paladins!" "Oooh legs!" "The legs are for Shamans" "God damn it!"

We had got the first boss down. On to the next.

We were dragging trash together. Tsff was doing a stellar job putting that intellect to good use and was aoe-ing his DK heart out. I managed to find a sword! I have never been so excited about a grey item in all my life. My newly equipped 'Fine Longsword' was my new best friend.

Antdruid and I had found some snake thing (I forget the name) and had poked with a sword/bitten it down to half health when we realised that half of us were with this boss and the other half were with Garr. We raced off to the others, the snake in tow. We arrived just to see them die. Antdruid then got punched in the muzzle and died. Oh my days, I was on my own. I had my pet, put his growl on and activated the crows when I heard over TS "it's a wipe!" "oh my god, if we actually wipe in Molten Core..." funny as it was, I was on two-thirds health, my pet was not doing well despite my best efforts of spamming Mend Pet. I was doing so much of that, I wasn't able to make time to poke the boss with my amazing sword. My pet died. Fuck.

I resssed him up and went at it again. It was at this point where I was frantically scanning my button bars for something out of the 36 buttons available to me that I could use when I realised that my crows had come off cool down. So far this fight had taken over two minutes and it was only at 63% health. I was conscious I was the last one alive, I was taking forever, my pet was dying, my DPS was now only 0.2k due to my amazing sword, the boss was not dying very quickly, and I could not do anything about it. I spam healed my pet, Earwig, looked at his action bar and noticed that he wasn't using his special reflective shield ability. I clicked it, thinking that if he's being attacked it might result in some extra DPS. No, it did not. It stopped him taking aggro. I got all the attention and was being killed. It was the longest six seconds of my life. Watching him stand there with his god damn shell, doing nothing! I healed myself as Earwig took the full force again and I just auto attacked, he was going to die again soon so why prolong the inevitable? My crows had come off again. I'd been doing this for four minutes. I resssed Earwig again and just set off the cycle again. There was silence on TS, clearly four minutes to wait is a long time, I would have made a cup of tea, had a smoke, gone to the loo... There was a word of Encoragement as the boss health was read out "34%". "you can do this!" "it's my amazing sword!" "that's all you can do isn't it with out a bow..." "waaahhhh! Yes!" we were not going to wipe in here so I kept going. Earwig died, came back to life again, crows came back on for the third time (six minutes I'd been going so far!) and I hit Stampeed. All of my pets came out to help and the boss dropped quite quickly.

OMG so much rejoicing over the death of Garr. Swiftly followed by a request for a res. Antdruid who had died a bit too far away got resssed individually, several times, as we waited for him to return to his keyboard. "Ant is not there?" "Ant is still dead" "Ant, you're dead" "oh, there he is" Onward!

It was at this point that Marvv joined us and kept his gear on "I don't bloody strip for no one!" was his reply, "I'm just going to follow you buggers around and watch" we went to another two bosses and after we had hit them a bit Marvv killed them, although it was nice to have them down so quickly we were also quite defensive about them. "Marvv, what are you doing? Don't kill the bosses and spoil our fun!" more useless gear dropped and I got a helm! For this bad boy I needed to switch on my 'show helm' option in my interface. I looked amazing with my amazing sword and dazzling helm. We trotted off to the other bosses. Killed them and a weapon dropped that we could all equip, leather legs dropped that we could all equip. Many squakings of "NEED!" went out over TS in amongst the laughing. Nanutza got the legs, which had agility on them. It did mean that her DPS went up! I got the weapon. I'd got attached to my amazing sword but the time had come to upgrade to... A massive fork. Poor Antdruid had won nothing so far so we went onwards to the last boss. Raggers.

As we ran around the giant stone spiral to get to him we killed off the few adds who had followed us around. Nanutza found herself in the lava, desperately jumping up at the ledge to get out. Finally she did and ran back round to join us all at the spot where our certain doom would come. Marvv said that he would stand by and if it looked like we needed it, he would step in to help. We summoned him. It all looked very large and intimidating when we were in awful gear. We started attacking, popping cool downs and giving it our all. I was busy poking Raggers with my pokey-fork and noticed his health bar was going down rapidly. "he's going down fast" "yeah I don't think you need me to help"

It was when Raggers finally fell to his fiery doom Antdruid finally got a piece of gear. A lovely skirt that made him look like a hula girl. We hearthstoned back to the shrine in our triumphant glory to be met with a startled gnome.
